Description
I created a series of flower paintings for an exhibition. Being Welsh the daffodil is our national flower and to me a symbol of my 'roots'. My mother loved the flower and I do too.
It is also the symbol for the Cancer Society here in New Zealand. I started painting this knowing I would donate its price to the Cancer Society as too many of us are affected by this disease in its many forms in one way or another. As I painted it I heard my childhood friend and ex-neighbour had passed away to lung cancer making this flower even more significant for me.
It is not supposed to be seen as sad, rather as radiating light and support.
I paint commissions and send them around the world.
